The NHA believes that a calorie sufficient diet that includes a broad base of fresh fruits, vegetables (especially leafy greens, yellow vegetables and cruciferous vegetables), a small amount of seeds and nuts, and complex starches (including potatoes, grains, and legumes) will provide the appropriate amounts of needed nutrition.
